Term has ended yesterday and the past 5 weeks before that had been hectic. Those were days where I did 9-5 in the labs, doing the lab work for my dissertation on chicken embryos. It was a lot of fun. Reminded me of why biology is interesting in the first place.

My supervisor was great and so were my lab partners. We work well together, so am hoping for a good mark for the practicals! We basically did some transplantation of modified DNA into the embryo and see what the effects it has on the embryo development. That is too simplistic to be honest, but am not going to delve into the details as unless you know the terminology, my words mean nothing. ^_^;;

Other than that, had a college basketball match which we won big! Practically massacred the other team! 46 - 8, baby! WAHAHAHAHA!!! You guys probably knew about this all ready since my MSN display name had been boasting about it for weeks now. :P Past tense there cause I'm changing my nick later...

Right, so for Easter break, the plan is to go to London and some other places while trying to write 6000 words for literature review and my dissertation - 6000 words each, mind you! >dies<>sigh<

Anyway, that's it for now. I have nothing else to say. Oh, Desperate Housewives!!! My current favourite tv series alongside CSI and Law & Order. Really good! Must watch! \^O^/

Ah! Spring is officially here!!!! Why'd I say that? Well, the gardener has started mowing the grass. That's a very sure sign that spring is here. Ahh... The smell of freshly cut grass~~~ Reminds me of home somehow. Hmm....

~Gladiolus flower. Ja ne!

Hugs!

I won my bids!

Woo hoo!!! It's been a while since I've updated this blog of mine. Honestly, there's not much interesting happenings in my life at the moment. The usual workload, going to lectures bla...bla...bla... However, as my title said, something interesting is happening now! Want to what? Read on...

There's a soil digging machine outside my room.

..............................

Yes, they put a gated area in the lawn in front of my room and make a lot of noise come 9 a.m. in the morning! I mean, my lecture is in the afternoons, do you know how annoying that is?! And it started last Friday and over the weekend. Cor blimey! -_-* Have they no mercy?!

Anyway, moving on to more cheery stuff. Been watching a lot of tv lately. Especially those 9 p.m. series. Let's see, there's CSI - Vegas, Miami and NEW YORK!!! - Desperate housewives (ooh... me like this very much!), Law and Order - Criminal intent and Special victim unit - and that's all I can remember now. Ha...ha... Of course, my room is open during that time. So if you're in my building, the door's open by 9 p.m.

Ahh... Now I have to go get my laundry. Else I have nothing to wear for my lecture! Pfft... I know I should do it yesterday, but you know how I am... ^O^;;

Sorry for the lack of e-mails guys. I have nothing much to say really... This work is purely fictional.***

The promise at parting

His eyes. His hair. His lips. I stared at the photograph inside the silver frame I held in my hand. It has been a while since I last saw him. I returned the picture frame back to its rightful place on my bedside table. I laid on my side, so that our eyes met as I put my head on the pillow. I sighed. I closed my eyes, recalling the last time we met.

************************************************************************************

'Our album promotion activity will be in full speed starting next week.' Go said quietly to my right ear. My hand which was pulling at the daisy petals froze. He was hugging me from behind as we sat on a hill side filled me blooming daisies. He reached to take away the daisy from my grasp. 'I probably won't be able to see you for 3 months or so.'

I inhaled deeply and lent back and put my head on his left shoulder. I knew this would come sooner or later after the recording had finished. 'Well, at least I'll be seeing your face frequently on the telly!' I replied jokingly, forcing a smile on my lips.

'Gomen ne.' he breathed out as he kissed my forehead gently. He saw past my mask - he always does.

I patted his hands clutching on my lap. Our relationship was to be kept secret as per his contract. 'I've always love your voice. It would be a shame not to share it to the world.' I tried to lighten the mood. A tear slid unnoticed on my right cheek.

Go wept the tear away with his thumb. His face looked serious. He stared right into my eyes.

'Oh, I must have some pollen in my eyes!' I turned away quickly and rubbed my right eye. I didn't want him to see me cry. He remained silent and played along with my act. I stood up. I can't handle the depressing aura surrounding the moment. 'I guess it's time to go back now eh! You must have something to do before yo...'

I didn't get to finish my sentence. He pulled me close to him and put a finger on my lips. He traced my lips and pulled my chin up gently when I tried to turn away. Again he stared directly into my eyes. 'Please wait for me.'

My vision went blur. I can't hold back my tears anymore. 'I'll wait for you Go-kun.' He cupped my face with his hands and wiped the tears away with his thumbs. I managed a wavery smile and whispered, 'Fight-o.' He smiled and kissed me sweetly.

'Aishiteru, Ryoko-chan.'

************************************************************************************

I can feel the beginning of tears as I opened my eyes again and saw his face in the silver frame. His group's album and songs were doing well in the charts. He even had a break into the acting world. It was more than 5 months since we last met and I am still waiting for him. We kept in touch through e-mails and phone calls, though infrequently as we're both busy getting on with our careers. However, a promise is a promise. I will wait for him. I kissed my thumb and then ran it on his lips. The glass sealing the photograph felt cool.

'Aishiteru, Morita Go-kun.'

I can't wait for us to meet again. When the time comes, I hope it won't feel cool when touching his lips.

The end.

***Japanese terms used:
Gomen ne: I'm sorry.
Aishiteru : I love you.***

Fiddling with HTML

Ooh... Sometimes I do wonder... ^^;;

Life oh life...

Just a wish...

***Disclaimer: Sakurai Sho is a member of the J-boyband Arashi. She began to tidy up her stationery and books into her backpack. Echoes of goodbyes tumbled out of the door as the classroom gradually emptied. One of the voice stood out from the rest and she stole a glance at the door. Sho was waving and laughing as he made his way out of the class. If only he was actually waving at me... she thought as she let out a sigh. She walked back home with her friends.

Back in her room, she looked herself in the mirror and wished she was pretty. Maybe then, she thought, Sho would look my way. She turned away and her eyes collided with a picture pinned to her notice board. It was taken at the class end of year party last year. In it, she was surrounded with her laughing classmates making faces behind her as she held up a certificate and a victory sign high up in the air. She was voted as class clown of the year. Yes, class clown! She smiled. She was proud of her sense of humour. That's the only thing she was good at - she wasn't really smart, she wasn't that pretty, she wasn't amazingly rich - for everything else, she was just an average Jane.

She walked over to her desk and opened her drawer. In it was an orange folder with the certificate and a piece of photograph. It was an up close photo of Sho wearing a silver medal at the school's sports festival last term. She bought it from the Photography Club. She had a crush on Sho since he was assigned as her Chemistry lab partner and helped her through with the practicals. He was smart, patient and kind. She thought of confessing, but chickened out after finding out that Sho was one of the idolised guys in her grade. Comparing herself to the other girls, she knew she wouldn't stand a chance of being noticed by him.

The only way she knew to attract attention to herself was by being funny, but even clowns cry. She wished he would look her in the eyes and tell her that he likes her. She had been hoping for this every time she entered the class they shared, when he was waving goodbye and before she went to sleep hoping her wish would come true the next day.

Alas, the days and months went passed without waiting. They were finally graduating from high school to venture into the university world. The graduation ceremony went well. Everyone was celebrating their freedom, but a trace of sadness could be felt as friendship circles could be tested by the foes that are distance and time as separation was nearing. She planned to leave highschool without regrets. One thing she would regret the most would be not to confess to Sho.

She waited until she saw a chance to talk to Sho alone. When she saw her chance, she hardened her wavering resolve and faked an air of confidence as she walked over to him.

'Hey Sho! Omedeeto!!! We're finally free!!! No more Chemistry for the rest of my life!'

Sho laughed merrily. 'Life could only get better eh?'

They joked around about leaving high school before she built her courage enough to make her confession.

'Oh yeah, Sho, I have something for you.' she said as she put her hand into her handbag. 'Just a little something to remember me by!' she grinned cheekily as she fitted a bright red spherical object on his nose. It was a clown's nose. He looked surprised before bursting into laughter.

'Indeed, you clown!' He exclaimed as he gave her a bear hug.

She hugged him back and quickly mumbled, 'I like you.' Sho froze. She could feel it and her heart felt like it was being squeezed hard. She prepared herself for the rejection.

'Can you say it again?'

'Huh?'

'What you said just now. Can you say it again?'

She blushed as she stared back into his eyes and gulped. 'I... I like you.'

A slow smile began curving on his lips. He took off the red nose and brought his face close to hers. 'Life is definitely getting better,' he brushed his lips to hers, 'I like you too.'

Her eyes widened in shock. This wasn't what she expected at all! 'But... why? I'm nothing like the other pretty girls and...'

Sho pinched her cheeks causing her to wince. 'It was your sense of humour which attracts me to you. You can make me laugh and feel at ease. It's a nice feeling.' He rubbed her red cheeks with his thumbs. 'I thought I didn't have a chance with you. You might think me boring or something.' He smiled sheepishly.

The world suddenly seemed brighter and more beautiful. 'No way! How could you think that?!' she chuckled and took his hands in hers. 'Well, looks like I have an extra something for you. Now I'll make sure you'll never forget me!'

Sho grinned and hugged her tightly. 'As if I could!'

Applause and cheers erupted around them. She pulled away quickly, only to be drawn in a tighter embrace. 'Don't run away from me now. Stay for a while longer.' she heard Sho whispered into her ear. Her heart felt lighter. The applause and cheers became louder.

The end.

***Japanese term: Omedeeto: Congratulations.***

My first blog...

I was chatting with my friend on MSN when she suggested that I should set up my own blog to post my fanfics up.
